From her final year in primary school Sandy had a clear dream: to become a hairdresser. She Started experimenting with hair at just 12 years old, cutting her friends hair and never looked back. For over 30 years, hairdressing has not just been her career, but her passion.

At the age of 24, Sandy was invited by one of her old college lecturers to return to West Kent College as a teacher, where she taught for 8 years. This experience built her confidence and deepened her understanding of the science behind hairdressing. This teaching experience pushed her to delve into the technical and creative aspects of her craft, solidifying her skills.

Throughout her career, Sandy has always kept an eye on evolving styles, often staying ahead of trends. Her journey has led her to establish and grow two successful salons, SW1 Hair & Beauty for 14 year in Royal Tunbridge Wells and Sandy Wood Hair Specialists for 8 years in Buckhurst Hill where she took pride in mentoring and educating her staff.

Her expertise is extensive, covering everything from bridal styling to session work, and she thrives on the diversity of her daily challenges. Whether she’s working with sleek, fine blonde hair or styling beautiful, textured Afro hair, Sandy finds creativity each day offers.
