ABOUT rheanna
Rheanna Wood is the visionary founder behind RHE;HAB Hair Studio, a unique haircare space that merges science, artistry, and inclusivity. Born and raised in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Rheanna's journey into hairdressing was anything but traditional. Originally, she began her career in accounting, but soon found herself drawn to the world of hair and beauty through her mother's salon, SW1 Hair and Beauty. Her mother, Sandy Wood, a respected figure in hair education and a specialist in diverse hair types, became the catalyst for Rheanna's journey into the industry.
In 2016, Rheanna and her mother moved to Essex to open Sandy Wood Hair Specialists, an intimate salon that allowed them to focus more on haircare, integrity, and client experience rather than the pressures of running a large-scale salon. It was here that Rheanna's passion for trichology—understanding the science of hair and scalp health—truly took root. Inspired by her father's battle with alopecia and her mother’s experiences seeking haircare that respected her natural hair's integrity, Rheanna dove deep into the world of hair science. She explored niche brands and treatments from around the globe, bringing innovative and holistic haircare solutions to the UK market.
As the journey evolved and 8 years passed, Rheanna & Sandy decided to close Sandy Wood Hair Specialists and Rheanna decided to pursue her own vision with the launch of RHE;HAB Hair Studio. While the new studio marks an exciting new chapter for Rheanna, Sandy continues to be a key part of this journey, working at RHE;HAB a couple of times a week. Together, they bring their combined expertise and passion for haircare to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for clients of all backgrounds.
Being mixed-race, with a Black Jamaican mother and a White English father, Rheanna grew up in the countryside where she faced challenges accepting her natural hair. This personal journey of self-acceptance, combined with witnessing her mother's struggle to find a salon that understood Afro hair, inspired Rheanna to create a space where everyone—regardless of ethnicity or hair type—could feel welcomed, respected, and celebrated. Sandy Wood Hair Specialists thrived for eight years, known for its diverse clientele and its commitment to providing quality, inclusive haircare for all.
Rheanna’s unique background and skills have made her a sought-after session stylist. She has worked behind the scenes at prestigious fashion events like London and Paris Fashion Weeks and shot campaigns with renowned brands such as GHD, Fabriq Hair, and Umberto Giannini. As part of GHD's UK Education Team, Global Pro Team, and the UK Collective, Rheanna regularly shares her expertise through education seminars, influencer events, and hairdressing courses. Her dynamic portfolio extends to editorial photoshoots, campaigns, wedding hair, and hosting live shows, such as the "How to Cut It" live hair show.
At RHE;HAB, Rheanna combines her love for hairdressing with her deep understanding of trichology and her passion for inclusive beauty. She offers a full range of hair services, including cuts, colors, extensions, barbering, and styling, ensuring that each client leaves feeling confident and empowered. Rheanna’s dedication to continuous education—instilled by her mother, who ran a successful hair academy—ensures that she remains at the forefront of haircare innovation and technique.
RHE;HAB is more than just a hair studio; it’s a sanctuary where science meets beauty, and every client’s unique hair journey is respected and celebrated. For Rheanna, it's not just about styling hair; it's about creating a space where everyone, regardless of their hair type, feels at home.
